Abstract
En la investigación realizada se planteó la medición y análisis del Síndrome de desgaste profesional o Burnout y de sus dimensiones en la Estación Central del Cuerpo de Bomberos Mérida, a un grupo de funcionarios bomberiles que laboran en el área administrativa y en el área de operaciones. Se desarrolló una investigación descriptiva con diseño de campo. Se aplicó el instrumento SDP, diseñado por el Centro de Investigaciones Psicológicas de la Universidad de Los Andes. Una vez obtenido los indicadores del síndrome, se relacionó con características psicograficas de la población estudiada. Se evidencia la presencia de un nivel medio del síndrome de Burnout en la población estudiada.
