dc.description.abstractEste texto aborda tres nociones ampliamente utilizadas en la lingüística de finales del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI: discurso, texto, contexto. Desde una perspectiva mayormente reflexiva, dichas nociones son entendidas y presentadas como intricadamente relacionadas e interdependientes para poder comunicar y construir discursivamente la realidad que vivimos. Con base en propuestas teóricas de la lingüística sistémico funcional de Halliday, este artículo muestra una manera de trazar posibles rutas de lectura de procesos significativos para una sociedad determinada, considerando los textos con los que se expresan tales procesos, las coordenadas contextuales en que se dan y la participación que desde ambos se tiene en los discursos con que se organiza una sociedad. Por supuesto, tales rutas de lectura necesariamente redimensionarán la importancia de saberes disciplinares y enfoques metodológicos, donde el foco será el fenómeno a estudiar y no tanto la disciplina desde donde se quiera estudiar.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The following text elaborates on three major notions used in linguistics in late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries: discourse, text, context. In a rather reflexive text, such notions are approached as overlapping and interdependent, so that they are useful to communicate and discursively build the reality in which we live. Based on Halliday’s Systemic-Functional linguistics, this article shows a way to build up possible reading paths for signifying processes in a given society, taking into consideration the texts used to express such processes, the contextual coordinates that frame such texts, as well as how both are ways to participate from socially established discourses. In order for such reading paths to be feasible, the importance of disciplines and their theoretical and methodological approaches will have to be necessarily reconsidered, where the main focus will be on the phenomenon to be studied and not so much on the discipline from which it will be studied.es_VE
