Abstract
El presente trabajo es un homenaje al bicentenario de la Declaración de la
Independencia y 200 años de nacimiento de la Nación venezolana. En la región
andina venezolana, la Villa Heroica de San Antonio del Táchira fue cuna de la Nación
venezolana y cuna de la región tachirense. Porque la Nación no se construye en un
solo día sino que se fragua en el tiempo de larga duración, por eso los historiadores
científi cos no hablamos solamente de fechas puntuales de la independencia, sino de
los procesos de independencia en la construcción de la Nación venezolana.
