Abstract
El autor aborda la fitotoponimia de una zona rural del Estado Mérida (Venezuela),
conocida como parroquia o micro-región Mucurubá, territorio en el que tal categoría está representada por numerosos nombres geográficos. Se analiza la significación social de los fitotopónimos, específicamente en lo relativo a la etnomedicina,
haciendo referencia a las propiedades fitoterapeúticas y a la representación
social en torno a algunas plantas cuyos nombres también fueron aplicados a la nomenclatura geográfica. Mediante el abordaje del método etnográfico y la búsqueda de información en algunas investigaciones especializadas, son examinados
parcialmente los conocimientos terapéuticos locales de ayer y de hoy y su equivalente científico. Se trata de un estudio geohistórico apoyado teórica y metodológicamente en la antropología, en la botánica y en la farmacia.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | The author approaches the fitotoponymy of a rural zone of the State Merida (Venezuela), known as parish or micro-region Mucurubá, territory in which such a category is represented by numerous geographical names. The social significance of the fitotoponyms is analyzed, specifically in the relative thing to the ethnomedicine, referring to the properties fitotherapeutics and to the social representation concerning some plants which names also were applied to the geographical nomenclature. By means of the boarding of the ethnographic method and the search of information in some specialized investigations, there are examined partially the therapeutic local knowledge of yesterday and of today and his scientific equivalent. It is a question of a geohistorical study supported theoretically and methodologically in the anthropology, in the botany and in the pharmacy. |
