Abstract
Se hace un recuento sobre la formación y la profesión del biólogo y su responsabilidad ética con la salud, el ambiente y la calidad de la vida. Se definen los términos relacionados con esos conceptos y su importancia para el individuo, la familia, la comunidad y la sociedad en general. Se destacan las necesidades básicas de toda sociedad (salud, nutrición, vivienda y abrigo, educación, trabajo y
recreación) y su relación con el ambiente y la calidad de la vida. Se hace referencia a los elementos degradantes del ambiente y las medidas que deben tomarse para evitar su deterioro total. La buena salud es fuente de buena calidad de la vida y esta es la base del desarrollo de las sociedades.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | A review is done about the formation and the profession of biologist and his/her ethic responsibility with health, environment, and life quality. The terms related to those concepts are defined as well as their importance to the individual, the family, the community, and the society in general. Emphasis is given to the basic needs of any society (health, nutrition, housing and clothing, education, labour, and recreation) and their relation with the environment and the quality of life. Reference is given to the environment degrading elements and the measures to be taken in order to avoid its total destruction. A good health is the source of a good life quality and this quality is the base of the development of the societies. |
