Resumen en otro Idioma | This article describes and analyses the peculiar experience of convict, patient, worker and source of incomes, underwent by Venezuelan women during Antonio Guzmán Blanco government periods, 1870-1888. Therefore, in this special fashion, we stress the social role fulfilled by wet nurses in a time where a high number of mothers unable to breast-feeding their children persisted; and without the possibility to count on infant formula or other sort of adequate food for the newborns organism. |
