dc.description.abstractDespués de cuatro años de ejecución del subcomponente Educación Ambiental Formal del Proyecto Páramo Andino, se evaluaron las capacidades desarrolladas en los docentes atendidos a partir de tres aspectos fundamentales: sus concepciones sobre el páramo, las prácticas educativas implementadas y su opinión sobre el proyecto. Se aplicaron entrevistas a un grupo de 29 docentes de los dos sitios pilotos abordados: Tuñame (Trujillo) y Gavidia (Mérida). Los docentes evidenciaron aprendizajes en aspectos relacionados con los atributos con que defi nen el páramo, su diversidad fl orística, sus mitos, leyendas y los benefi cios que brinda. Se logró incrementar en las escuelas la ejecución de Proyectos de Aprendizaje vinculados al páramo y su conservación. En cuanto a su opinión sobre el proyecto, indicaron una alta valoración por el trabajo realizado.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1Páramo Andino Project has had a subprogram addressed to environmental education at schools. After four years since the beginning of the project, an evaluation of the skills developed by teachers included in the subprogram has been designed. This evaluation was focused on three aspects: teachers’ perception towards the Páramo geographical region, the educational policies implemented, and their opinions about the project as a whole. An interview was applied to twenty-nine teachers in two settings initially considered as pilot project locations, namely, Tuñame (State of Trujillo) and Gavidia (State of Mérida). The results show that teachers learned new aspects related to Páramo ecosystem: fl ora diversity, myths, legends, and some of its main benefi ts. Learning projects related to Páramo preservation could be introduced and increased in local schools. Regarding teachers’ opinions about the project, the results show that there is a high valuation on the activities developed.es_VE
