Resumen en otro Idioma | This documentary review analyzes the co-presence of the spectral shadow and the fantastic as isotopic attributes of the symbolism of the sinister in the legend of Florentino and the Devil in Alberto Arvelo Torrealba. The Devil embodies Evil, blackness, darkness as nictomorfa presences, while in Florentino we nd Good, the upward movement of the hero, ie, the constant that is the search for the light, distancing oneself from all that is earthly and achieving the divine. And so Florentino symbolizes elevation and vertical movement. This is why he ends the counterpoint and makes reference to Catholicism’s fteen sacred names ( ten virgins, two saints and the Holy Trinity: God, Son and the Holy Spirit ), thus dispatching the Devil’s boat to wander far and wide. We conclude fundamentally that the spectral is a homologous and isotopic marker of the symbolism of the sinister, an attribute which is co-present in the mystery which gives interactional meaning and cohesion to the fictional reality of the story of this legend of the Venezuelan plains. |
