dc.description.abstractCon base en nociones elaboradas para explicar las particularidades de la integración europea y sus medios de acción externa, este artículo analiza cómo la Unión Europea (UE) busca influir en el regionalismo suramericano. El caso de estudio es la asistencia de la UE al proceso regional del Mercosur y su estructura institucional. Los autores argumentan que si bien el modelo europeo de integración regional ha orientado la configuración del Mercosur, y la asistencia de la UE ha concretizado un poder normativo sobre algunos organismos del bloque regional suramericano, no es posible inferir que el Mercosur tiene instituciones a imagen y semejanza de las instituciones de la UE.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1Based on concepts developed to explain the specificities of European integration and the means of its action on the world stage, this article analyzes how the European Union (EU) seeks to influence South American regionalism. The case study is the EU assistance to the regional process of Mercosur and its institutional structure. The authors argue that although the European model of regional integration has guided the setting of Mercosur, and despite the assistance of the EU has made concrete a normative power of some agencies of South American regional bloc, it is not possible to infer that Mercosur has institutions image of the EU institution.es_VE
