Primer reporte en Venezuela de Botrytis cinerea causando quema foliar en lisianto (Eustoma grandiflorum)

Abstract
El lisianto (Eustoma grandiflorum) representa actualmente una de las especies ornamentales con mayor potencial de comercialización en Venezuela, especialmente en la región de los Andes. En junio de 2006, se detecta por primera vez el hongo Botrytis cinerea aislado de tallos y hojas de lisiantos, cultivados en los sectores de Plan del Morro y La Pedregosa, municipio Libertador del estado Mérida. Pruebas de patogenicidad realizadas bajo condiciones de invernadero y subsecuentes reaislamientos del patógeno a partir de los lisiantos infectados artificialmente, confirmaron que B. cinerea fue el causante de la quema foliar investigada. Los síntomas característicos de la enfermedad se expresaron en el 100% de las plantas infectadas a los 35d después de la
inoculación. Este es el primer reporte sobre B. cinerea atacando plantas de lisianto en Venezuela.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum) now represents one of the ornamental species with the greatest potential for commercialization in Venezuela, especially in the Andean region. In June of 2006, was detected for the first time the fungus Botrytis cinerea and was isolated from stems and leaves of lisianthus grown in areas of Plan del Morro and La Pedregosa, Libertador Municipality of Mérida State. Pathogenicity tests done under greenhouse conditions and subsequent reisolations of the pathogen from artificially infected lisianthus plants; this confirmed that B. cinerea was the causal agent of the foliar blight disease studied. Thirty five days after inoculation, the typical disease symptoms were expressed on all the plants infected experimentally. This is the first report of B. cinerea attacking lisianthus plants in Venezuela. |
