| dc.description.abstract | El presente artículo tiene como objetivo reflexionar sobre los procesos de inserción a los campos de atención, laboral y educativo de la medicina a las comunidades afrodescendientes con un enfoque metodológico de carácter cualitativo centrándose en la revisión documental, análisis crítico historiográfico y la reflexión argumentativa. Este estudio destaca la discriminación étnica en educación, salud y empleo perpetuando desigualdades, limitando acceso a recursos y participación de comunidades racializadas, como afrodescendientes, en investigación científica y decisiones clínicas, afectando justicia epistemológica. Profundiza en el racismo estructural marginando a las minorías, en investigación médica y científica con poca financiación, métodos de selección sesgados y entornos hostiles. Exige estrategias que integren formas de financiación, tutorías y reformas colectivas. Conclusión: El racismo en la ciencia y medicina compromete la calidad y equidad del conocimiento. Superar disparidades requiere transformar estructuras institucionales, garantizando inclusión, apoyo continuo y liderazgo para investigadores y académicos afrodescendientes, asegurando participación activa y valorada como renovación sistémica. Cabe resaltar, como punto de reflexión de análisis de los postulados durante el escrito identificar como se siguen presentando procesos de marginación hacía las personas que caracterizan una raza distinta a lo que se ha llamado históricamenteconvencional.

| dc.description.abstract1 | This article aims to reflect on the processes of integrating Afro-descendant communities into the fields of medical care, labor, and education through a critical methodological lens. The study highlights ethnic discrimination in education, healthcare, and employment, which perpetuates inequalities by limiting access to resources and the participation of racialized communities—such as Afro-descendants—in scientific research and clinical decision-making, thereby undermining epistemic justice. It delves into how structural racism marginalizes minorities in medical and scientific research, manifested throughinadequate funding, biased selection methods, and hostile environments. The study calls for strategies that integrate alternative funding mechanisms, mentorship programs, and collective reforms. Conclusion: Racism in science and medicine compromises the quality and equity of knowledge production. Overcoming these disparities requires transforming institutional structures to ensure inclusion, sustained support, and leadership opportunities for Afro-descendant researchers and scholars, thereby affirming their active and valued participation as part of systemic renewal. As a key point of reflection, the analysis underscores the persistence of marginalization processes against individuals whose racial identity diverges from historically conventional norms. | es_VE |
