dc.description.abstractJuan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo representa una de las mentes más lúcidas que ha tenido Venezuela referente al tema petrolero. No obstante, sus ideas son parte del devenir histórico del país como productor de hidrocarburos en donde existen otros intelectuales, además de diversos temas puntuales (rentismo, nacionalismo, soberanía petrolera, entre otros) que han sido determinantes en el debate nacional. Internacionalmente obtuvo renombre por ser uno de los impulsores de la OPEP, siendo catalogado como su “Padre”. En lo que sigue, se abordará el papel de Venezuela en la fundación de dicha organización y la labor fundamental de Pérez Alfonzo.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo represents one of the most lucid minds that Venezuela has had regarding the oil issue. However, his ideas are part of the historical development of the country as a producer of hydrocarbons, where there are several topics and intellectuals that have determined the national debate, among the topics we fi nd: rentierism, nationalism and sovereignty. Internationally, he was renowned for being one of the promoters of OPEC in 1960, being catalogued as its "Father".
