dc.description.abstractSe presenta a continuación un adelanto más de los estudios que se vienen efectuando sobre la parroquia Caruao en el estado Vargas de Venezuela. En esta oportunidad se habla de la Hacienda San Faustino, antigua unidad productora de cacao trabajada por esclavizados africanos desde el siglo XVIII y luego por sus descendientes, ubicada en la parroquia Caruao. Se conoce de la misma por la investigación documental efectuada en archivos históricos de Caracas y La Guaira, pero también por el registro arqueológico y la memoria oral recabados en el proyecto de investigación “Antropología de la aparroquia Caruao” (APC) durante los años noventa del siglo XX. Con este artículo se quiere honrar a los esclavizados de San Faustino, de quienes hoy ya no se halla memoria alguna, aun cuando sus llantos y lamentos se escuchen por las noches.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1Below is a preview of the studies that are being conducted on the Caruao parish in the Vargas state of Venezuela. On this occasion we talk about the Hacienda de San Faustino, an old cacao production unit worked initially by enslaved Africans and then by their afro-descendants, located in the Caruao parish since the 18th century. It is known from the same by the documentary research carried out in historical archives of Caracas and La Guaira, by the archaeological record and the oral memory collected in the research project “Anthropology of the Caruao parroquia” (APC) in the nineties of the XXth century. With this article we want to honor the enslaved of San Faustino, of whom today there is no memory, even when their cries and laments are heard at night.es_VE
