Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación cuyo
propósito fue identi car las estrategias que aplican los estudiantes de
Educación Mención Lenguas Extranjeras (inglés y Francés) como segunda
lengua para lograr la adquisición del vocabulario, así como la
frecuencia en que las usan. El tipo de investigación es descriptiva con
diseño de campo. Se aplicó un cuestionario de treinta y tres ítems a una
muestra aleatoria de cuarenta estudiantes de Inglés y Francés (niveles
I, II y III) en el Núcleo Universitario Rafael Rangel de la Universidad
de Los Andes. El cuestionario fue validado por especialistas, se le aplicó
el método de mitades partidas para el cálculo de la confiabilidad,
cuyo coe ciente fue de 0,98. Los resultados permitieron identi car que
las estrategias más aplicadas por los estudiantes de Inglés y Francés
fueron las metacognitivas seguidas por las socio-afectivas y luego
por las cognitivas. Se encontró además que los estudiantes aplican,
preferentemente, nueve estrategias individuales para la adquisición del vocabulario y se logró describir variables signi cativas en la habilidad
del estudiante por nivel de idioma. Se recomienda a los docentes de
la mención Lenguas Extranjeras en el NURR, enseñen a los estudiantes las distintas estrategias de aprendizaje que existen para la adquisición del vocabulario
de una segunda lengua.

Resumen en otro Idioma | This article presents the results of an investigation whose purpose was of identifying the strategies that students of Education Mention Foreign Languages (English and French) as second language apply to obtain the vocabulary acquisition and also their frequency based upon their language level. The investigation was conceived as a descriptive investigation with field design. A questionnaire of 33 items was applied to a random sample of forty students of English and French (levels I, II and III) in the University Nucleus Rafael Rangel of the University of the Andes. The questionnaire was validated by specialists in the matter and it was applied the method of halves divided for the calculation of the reliability, the reliability coefficient is of 0, 98. The results con rm that the strategies more applied by the students of English and French in a general way were the metacognitive strategies followed by the socioaffective strategies and by the cognitive ones. In addition, the study founds that the students apply, preferably, nine individual strategies for the acquisition of the vocabulary and it is managed to describe significant variables in the ability of the student by language level. It is recommended that the teachers of Foreign Language studies in the NURR guide the students in using different learning strategies that exist for the vocabulary acquisition in a second language. |
