dc.description.abstractEl objetivo principal del trabajo es reseñar la recepción de la radioactividad en Venezuela durante el periodo 1896-1934. A través de la exploración histórica, que incluyó desde artículos científicos y divulgativos, notas de prensa, tesis, informes, programas de estudio hasta fuentes secundarias (libros, artículos), fue posible establecer que los ingenieros y los médicos fueron los actores sociales claves dentro del proceso de recepción de la radioactividad en el país en el lapso indicado; así como identificar la aplicación que tuvieron los Rayos X y la radioactividad como herramienta de trabajo médico-clínico, en la sociedad venezolana.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The main objective of this paper is to outline the reception of radioactivity during the period 1896-1934. Through historical exploration, including from scientific articles and divulgative and press reports, theses, education programs, and secondary sources (books, articles) it was possible to establish that engineers and physicians were the key stakeholders within the process of reception of the radioactivity in Venezuela at the time indicated, and the application that Venezuela had X-rays and radioactivity as a tool for medical and clinical work.es_VE
