dc.description.abstractLos traumatismos buco-dentales son considerados una injuria que resulta en una lesión a nivel dental, de los tejidos de soporte o ambos; constituyen después de la caries dental la segunda causa de pérdidas prematuras de dientes primarios y permanentes. Se reporta el manejo terapéutico odontológico de la luxación lateral y fractura radicular en dentición permanente con ápice inmaduro en un escolar femenino de 7 años de edad de la etnia Wayú aparentemente sana, referida de la Emergencia Pediátrica del Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo, presentando traumatismo facial producto de impacto contra el pavimento por caída desde su propia altura con una hora de evolución. Al examen intraoral se evidencia luxación lateral del incisivo central superior derecho con laceración de la mucosa vestibular, el examen radiográfico revela imagen radiolúcida compatible con fractura radicular a nivel del tercio apical con ápice inmaduro. El tratamiento del caso consistió en la reposición e inmovilización con el empleo de una férula funcional por 4 semanas, seguido de controles clínicos y radiográficos. La supervivencia pulpar de los dientes que sufren este tipo de traumatismo buco-dental depende no sólo del manejo terapéutico odontológico, sino también del estado del desarrollo de la raíz, del desplazamiento del diente afectado y del tiempo de evolución del caso.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1Buco-dental trauma are considered an injury that results in dental damage, supporting tissues or both, there are the second cause of premature loss of primary teeth and permanent after dental caries. A report of therapeutic handle in a school age female with 7 years old of the Wayu ethnic, apparently healthy, referred from the Pediatric Emergency of the Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo, presenting facial trauma product from impact falling on the pavement from her own height, with an hour of evolution. The intraoral examination evidenced lateral dislocation of upper right central incisor with laceration of the buccal mucosa, the radiographic examination revealed a radiolucency line compatible with a root fracture at the apical 1/3 with immature apex. The treatment of this case involved the replacement and immobilization with the use of a functional splint for 4 weeks followed by clinical and radiographic controls. Pulp survival in teeth with this type of bucco-dental trauma depends not only on dental therapeutic, but also the state of root development, the movement of the affected tooth and the case evolution in time.es_VE
