dc.description.abstractEste artículo presenta un balance del comercio bilateral Venezuela-Colombia desde 1999 hasta 2008. El propósito de este trabajo es estudiar como ha sido el comportamiento del comercio entre ambos países durante este periodo. Esta etapa tiene particular significancia puesto que coincide con la promoción e instauración de un nuevo modelo de desarrollo económico y social en Venezuela. En la primera parte de este trabajo, se examina, brevemente, el comportamiento del comercio hasta 1998 y en la segunda sección, la evolución más reciente del comercio venezolano-colombiano hasta 2008. Finalmente, se concluye que a pesar de las tensiones políticas y diplomáticas entre ambos gobiernos, Venezuela ha incrementado su dependencia en el comercio desde Colombia. Ante lo cual surge la necesidad de establecer un acuerdo bilateral en el contexto de una política comercial discreta, orientada al fomento de las inversiones productivas del país, así como a la especialización y comercialización de productos en el mercado internacional.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1This article presents an overview of the Venezuela-Colombia bilateral trade from 1999 to 2008. The purpose of this paper is to study how has been the behavior of trade between both countries during this period. This stage has particular significance since it coincides with the promotion and establishment of a new economic and social development model in Venezuela. In the first section of this paper, the behavior of trade until 1998 is examined briefly; and the second one, is looking the latest developments in the Venezuelan-Colombian trade, until 2008. Finally we conclude that despite political and diplomatic tensions between both governments, Venezuela has increased its trade dependence from Colombia. As a result, there is a need to establish a bilateral agreement in the context of a policy trade discreet and aimed to promote productive investment in the country, as well as, specialization and commercialization of products in the international market.es_VE
