| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | The article deals with women’s participation both in Latin America independence process and Nation-State building during the 19th century. Exploring 20th century Colombian historiography, the author develops debates about “Women in the Independence”. The emergence of images, representations and discourses are identified. Categories used by historians such as “Heroines” and “Martyrs”, are taken in consideration. The article argues that history analyzed from the genre studies perspective allows a better understanding of its dynamics. The idea of a feminine subject in the struggle against colonialism plays a very important role in the creation of the Nation-States in Latin America. | es_VE |
