| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | This article presents the results of a field work conducted in the municipalities of San José de Cúcuta (Colombia), Bolívar and Pedro María Ureña (Venezuela) with the aim of knowing the perceptions about the territorial competitiveness of these municipalities, separated by the international boundary. The research is a field work of an exploratory nature. The results show that, despite the high potentiality they have to derive benefits from the Border Integration Zone (BIZ) between North Santander and Táchira; the two more active political and territorial entities along the common border, the municipalities show a low competitiveness, with the exception of the variable legal aspect. These results illustrate the negative influence of the international boundary among them and the lack of bilateral planning, execution and supervisory mechanisms. | es_VE |
