| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo de la presente comunicación es la de señalar por primera vez la presencia de Amblyomma cajennense en los estados Aragua y Cojedes. La muestra procesada e identificada estuvo representada por 14 ejemplares de la garrapata: seis de ellas se recolectaron en cinco perros en áreas peri-urbanas de Maracay y ocho en dos perros y un gato, en una finca ubicada en el municipio San Carlos del estado Cojedes. Las garrapatas se encontraron fijadas principalmente a las orejas de sus distintos hospedadores. Se menciona por primera vez a A. cajennense como ectoparásito del gato doméstico en Venezuela. Con estos resultados se elevan a siete el número de especies de Amblyomma señaladas para el estado Aragua. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | The objective of this comunication is to point out the presence of Amblyomma cajennense in the states of Aragua and Cojedes for the first time. The processed and identified sample was represented in fourteen specimens of ticks, six of which were obtained from five dogs in the peripheral areas of Maracay, and eight samples from two dogs and a cat on a farm located in the county of San Carlos in Cojedes State. The ticks were found primarily on the ears of different hosts. For the first time A. cajennense is mentioned as an ectoparasite in the domestic cat in Venezuela. Based on these results, there are now seven species of Amblyomma in Aragua state. | es_VE |
